Amy Poehler talks maternity fashion

Saturday Night Live actress Amy Poehler spoke with USA Today about the impossible task of finding the perfect dress for the Emmy Awards and finding her balance — both physically (thanks to the big ole’ belly) and in her life. The Baby Mama actress and her husband, actor Will Arnett, are expecting their first child next month.
On pregnancy cravings:
“You have no idea. I ate two waffles, a banana and cereal with blueberries. And that was between my two breakfasts.”
On doing SNL while pregnant:
“It’s my second week back. With the (first) show on Saturday, I was trying to figure out what would be my rhythm. And adrenaline still really does work. I was waddling from scene to scene (makes huffing noises).”
How does she balance it all?
“The (phrase) “balance it all” is really funny because literally, my balance — it’s about not falling down. I am short of stature, and I have a giant, giant, 40-pound cement beach ball in my front area. The way I balance all of it is, I put my hand on someone’s shoulder and ask them to escort me to the next scene.”
Her Emmy dress:
“I’m going to wear Zac Posen. I really like him. I love his stuff. And I’m using Harry Josh — he’s this star stylist and he does Gisele (Bündchen), and I’m going to ask him if he can make me look like Gisele from the neck up. I’m going to have a team of scientists and engineers who are going to hopefully try to draw the eye up. Will’s going to wear vertical stripes, with arrows that point up to the sky. And I’m going to wear a dress with a neon arrow that points up to the sky.”
Pregnant women should be exempt for the worst-dressed list:
“That would be kind of rude. I wish I could wear a wrestling singlet and flip-flops. Would that be weird?”

Biggest Loser host and Days of our Lives actress Alison Sweeney shows off her growing bump at the NBC Fall Premiere Party on Thursday in Los Angeles.
The 31-year-old actress is expecting her second child, a girl, in Januaray. She and her husband, Dave Sanov, are already parents 3-year-old Benjamin.

The Departed actress Vera Farmiga looked beautiful at the world premiere of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas in London last week.
The 35-year-old actress and her boyfriend, Renn Hawkey, are expecting their child before the end of the year.
I love the two-toned colors and the Grecian-inspired look of this dress. The velvet fabric flows perfectly over her growing bump.

Gena Lee Nolin’s baby shower details

Baywatch actress and former Playboy Playmate Gena Lee Nolin was excited to have a pink baby shower, after already having two blue ones. “I love my boys,” she tells Life and Style magazine. “They’re awesome, but having a little girl is going to be amazing.”
Nolin and her husband, hockey player Cale Hulse, will welcome a girl named Stella Monroe this fall. The actress has one son, 11-year-old Spencer, from a previous relationship. She and Hulse have one son together, 2-year-old Hudson. Hulse also had a child from a previous relationship — 7-year-old Caia.
Guests at Nolen’s Scottsdale, Arizona baby shower enjoyed cupcakes as the mom-to-be opened gifts from Babystyle and Wendy Bellissimo.

Pregnant actress Jennifer Garner, 36, wears her typical casual maternity outfit (jeans, sneakers and a solid top) as she drops her daughter, 2 1/2 year-old Violet, off at preschool.
Garner is expecting her second child this winter with her hubby, actor Ben Affleck. They know the sex of the baby, however are keeping that information private.
I love Jennifer and think she is a great mom to cute-as-a-button Violet, however I would really like to see her spruce up her casual maternity look. Her look is fine for us “regular” moms, but she is a celebrity and she should dress the part!
Let me put on my Rachel Zoe celeb-stylist hat and tell you what I think she should do. Trading her white sneakers for a hip pair of black ballet flats or metallic gladiator sandals would immediately add more style to her look.
Instead of her boring black shapeless sweater, she would look beautiful in the Isabella Oliver Wrap Around Top which, by the way, is available in a variety of colors. After Jerry apologized for calling Rebecca “huge,” the Ugly Betty actress told reporters she had no hard feelings. “I am huge! I’m a 6-footer and five months pregnant.”
Rebecca and Jerry are expecting fraternal twin girls in January.
