Heidi Klum on new-mom essentials
April 26, 2008
Supermodel mom Heidi Klum talks to US Weekly about how to go from slummy mummy to yummy mummy. The Project Runway host and her hubby, singer Seal, are parents to 4-year-old Leni, 2-yearpold Henry and 16-month-old Johan.
Did becoming a mom affect your style?“I didn’t want to be “momsy.” I still wear supertight jeans and heels - well, not when I go with them to the playground!
As far as dressing casual, Klum gives these tips:
“Throw away the things that look sloppy and stained. Why would you want to get caught anywhere, even at home, looking like that? There are so many nice tracksuits now. Also, have a pair of jeans that fit great but also have enough stretch so you’re not in pain sitting in the car. Cute sandals are important, too: Right now there are all these gladiator sandals, from really high-priced Balenciaga to a pair from Victoria’s Secret for 59 bucks.”
Do you think your style will change once you become a mom?
How to slim down a full face
April 26, 2008

Many pregnant women discover (as this mom-of-two did) that as their bellies get fuller their face gets fuller as well. Not to worry, pretty mama, because celebrity make-up artist Mally Roncal tells US Weekly how you can use makeup and a sexy hairstyle to slim down full cheeks.
How can blush make your face appear slimmer? Apply a brighter blush from your cheekbones to your temples, and contour the hollows of your cheeks with a darker shade. “Make a fish face,” Roncal says. “It shows you were to contour.”
One good choice is the Stila Face Contouring Trio ($38) from Sephora.com. These three expertly coordinated shades will ensure you get a natural, blended look.
As far as your hair, she suggests cutting your hair to shoulder length or longer. Hair that falls near the ears, such as a short bob or long layers, will make your face look fuller.
Baby shower dress options
April 26, 2008

Question: I am looking for the perfect dress for my baby shower next month. I would like it to be a colorful print, but not over-the-top. Any suggestions?
Answer: The red and black print set on a background of white makes this Border Print Voile Dress ($98) from Mimi Maternity the perfect choice. Details such as a hint of sheer black fabric, the smocked waist and surplice neckline all add a flirty touch to this dress.
Another good choice for a baby shower dress is the Sleeveless Floral Print Dress ($98). The subtle green print against the dark green sash makes a beautiful combination.

Get celebrity baby hand-me-downs
April 25, 2008
Celebrity parents such as Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Mariska Hargitay are all teaming up to donate their children’s hand-me-downs for Johnson’s Celebrity Hand Me Down Auction. Proceeds from this eBay auction will benefit the March of Dimes, Save the Children, Zero to Three and Baby Buggy, among others.
What celeb baby loot can you expect to score? Matt Damon is auctioning off his black messenger baby bag, while Julianne Moore is donating daughter Liv’s beachwood highchair. August, the son of Mariska Hargitay, will be donating his Adidas track suit.
The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who will be donating her used car seat, tells Usmagazine.com: “It is important to pass certain things on from one generation to the next. I still have a children’s bracelet that my mother gave to me, which I will pass on to my daughter one day. There is something priceless about having certain things around you which tell a story.”
The online auction will begin April 29th and end on May 9th. Click here for all the details.
I’m not sure you will score a bargain, but having the diaper bag that Matt Damon had wrapped around his body has to be worth something!

How to layer your spring wardrobe
April 24, 2008

Are you dying to wear your cute floral-print sundress, but the weather is a few degrees too cold to make it practical? Here are a few options that will allow you to wear you spaghetti strap sundress or tank top without feeling the chill.
A short shrug is a stylish choice because it keeps your shoulders and arms warm and you don’t have to worry about your belly outgrowing it. Pick a shrug in a neutral color, such as white or taupe, to make it versatile enough to go with a variety of outfits. Shrugs also get bonus points for being able to wear post-baby! Pictured is the Ruffled V-neck Shrug in mochaccino ($54.50) from Gap Maternity.
Another stylish option to take the chill off is a buttoned-front cardigan. Layer a non-maternity cardigan in a coordinating color over your sundress and just button the top two or three buttons, letting your tummy peek through. Just like the shrug, the cardigan can be worn after baby is born. Check out the Two-Pocket Cardigan ($34.50) from Gap.
Blazers are hot this season making them the perfect layering piece. Play around with fun fabrics and colors to spice up your spring wardrobe.
