Will wearing tight clothes hurt my baby?
November 27, 2007

As you reach that awkward stage of pregnant (normal clothes too tight, maternity clothes too big) stage, you may start to wonder: Are these too-tight jeans harming my baby?
Wearing tight clothes will more than likely not hurt your baby; however it can hurt your state of mind! It is hard to feel like a hot mama when your jeans are digging into your stomach. What can you do when you are in that awkward stage?
Look for pants and skirts with drawstrings or a stretchy waistband that will allow for your small bump, but can also be adjusted as your belly grows. The Bella Band (pictured), a stretchy band that goes around your belly, is a great option for that in-between stage (and are a lot more attractive than walking around with your top button undone).

November 26, 2007

Without a Trace actress Poppy Montgomery opens up the doors to her “magical, whimsical and dreamy” lemon-and-lime colored nursery to the pages of OK! Magazine. Montgomery, 35, and her boyfriend Adam Kaufman are expecting their first child, a son, in December.
Wendy Bellissimo helped the couple create their bee-themed nursery which she describes as “cheerful, peaceful and unique.”
What are Poppy’s two favorite nursery items? She loves her lime-green suede rocking chair which will be “great” for nursing and her Moses Basket. “That basket is a little oasis. If he’s sleeping with us in bed, you can put it in between you and we won’t roll over and squish him.”

Not ready to tell? Try a tiered dress!
November 24, 2007

When dressing your pregnant body this holiday season, consider the flirty lines of a tiered dress. Heidi Klum, who at the time was pregnant with her third child, looked beautiful in this J.Mendel gown.
“The tiers create a beautiful line without adding weight. In Heidi’s case, she was a few months pregnant and hadn’t yet announced it to the press,” stylist Penny Lovell tells Instyle magazine.
If you are not ready to let the world know you are pregnant, follow these tips from Lovell when picking out a tiered dress. She says to look for a dress with a fitted bustline and the “top tier should be the length of a short dress.”
If you like the tiered look, but also want a dress that highlights your bump then check out the black Mesh Dress from A Pea in the Pod. The fitted top will highlight you bump, while the tiered skirt adds the flirty details.
